Aleix is a grad student in Aeronautics and Astronautics from sunny Barcelona. Besides being in the cheer team, he is the founding president of Catalonia@MIT and has (way too) many hobbies: he likes to play the piano, the guitar, badminton, sailing, traveling (40 countries and counting) and, as a private pilot, to fly.
Alisa Hathaway
Alisa is a sophomore studying EECS & Neuroscience with a minor in MechE. Aside from cheer, Alisa is an officer in IEEE/ACM, Voltage, and a member of the Japanese Student Association. She also loves boba, cats, and the color yellow!
Asia Hypsher
Asia is a 2021 studying Chemical Engineering with a minor in French. She is from Marietta, Georgia where she has cheered since middle school. In addition to being a captain of the Cheer team, she is a member of the Black Students' Union and works as an Admissions Ambassador. She enjoys eating around Boston & Cambridge and finding the best spots to nap on campus.
Athena Ortega
Athena is a senior studying biological engineering. She is from Miami, Florida. Besides cheer, she is a member of Alpha Chi Omega, DanceTroupe, and MIT Medlinks. In her free time, you can find her watching the Bachelor.
Carina Hong
Carina is a freshman studying Math. She likes dancing, yummy food, and patting fluffy puppies. Her favorite cheer is Go Beavers!
Catherine Johnson
Catherine is a sophomore studying Computer Science with a minor in Economics. She is from Tampa, Florida. In addition to being a captain of the Cheer team, she is a member of the Tech Catholic Community and a cadet in Air Force ROTC.
Gisella Kakoti
Gisella is a junior majoring in Computer Science. She’s from Miami, Florida and this is her first year cheerleading. Outside of cheer, she serves as the Historian for the IEEE/ACM executive board, and the Undergraduate Liaison for SWE. In her spare time, she loves to play cover songs on her ukulele and bake ridiculous amounts of brownies.

Julia is a sophomore studying Electrical Engineering & Computer Science. Besides cheering, Julia makes videos for the MIT society of women engineers' youtube channel. In her 'free time', Julia enjoys crocheting and playing tennis.
Mercy Oladipo
Mercy is a first-year student at MIT hoping to major in course 6-9 (Computation and Cognition) with a minor in Biomedical Engineering, all while remaining on the pre-med track. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, watching Grey’s Anatomy and Youtube vloggers (Danielle Carolan and Remi Cruz), and repping Chicago, the best city ever!!
